A day of encounters with Carrefour

Consumers meet producers
In mid-September, Hubert and Christophe - dairy farmers and Even members based in Plouarzel - welcomed 21 consumers at the 3rd Champ des Rencontres, an annual event organised by Carrefour in partnership with Paysan Breton.
This initiative is part of the Pacte Transition Alimentaire (Food Transition Pact), which aims to strengthen links between producers and consumers by promoting responsible, sustainable farming practices.
Interaction on the farm
In the course of the day, the visitors discovered what daily life entails for Hubert and Christophe, who are committed to Laïta’s CSR initiative, Passion du Lait®. Together they explored the different areas of the farm, including the calves, the milking parlour, the bulk milk tank, etc., and talked with the two dedicated milk producers about their farming practices, their environmental stance and the quality of the milk they produce.
The day ended with a tasting session of Paysan Breton products - stuffed pancakes, emmental and Madame Loïk whipped cheese - the perfect illustration of our dairy farmers’ expertise.
A convivial learning experience
The event was a chance to engage in informative discussion, providing consumers with a deeper understanding of the link between sustainable farming practices and high-quality food, which they can see and taste on their plates.
Our thanks to all who took part for their enthusiastic involvement and pertinent questions, and to Carrefour for this marvellous initiative that helps bring producers and consumers closer together.
