Promoting health and ergonomics at work stations

A study was carried out on a supply station at the Lanfains site (22), as a result of which the station was reorganised. By raising the work platform and providing a lifting table, the strain on the shoulders and risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) were reduced. Controlling the lifting table from the platform also eliminated the risk of falling. At the Ancenis site (44), the packaging line for butter in recyclable containers was designed to comply with ergonomic benchmarks that were established after observing the work activity on the production line and in simulations of work to be carried out in the future. As a result, seated work stations were designed for putting on the lids, the conveyor and lid storage trays being set at the correct height to avoid the deleterious posture and fatigue inherent with a standing position. In parallel with these studies, the Laïta prevention teams are testing an ergonomics observation grid to enable an initial diagnosis as soon as a risk situation is identified.
