Industrial Operations Manager, Landerneau butter factory (29)

As Industrial Operations Manager at the Landerneau butter factory (29), Yves-René is in charge of the continuous investment and improvement projects for the butter production process.

Knowledge acquisition

Yves-René’s entire 26-year career has been dedicated to Laïta, where he has worked uninterruptedly on butter production. Starting as a butyrateur operator (a machine that turns cream into butter), he then moved on to operating the barrel churn. Due to his commitment and the specific knowledge he accrued, he was subsequently promoted to team leader, then shop floor manager. As a result of his progression he has become an expert in all aspects of butter production.

Yves-René currently heads up a team comprising two staff members and an industrial engineering work-study programme trainee.

Making progress together

Yves-René manages investment projects approved by the management. His team also works to improve the butter-making process in close collaboration with the departments for quality, new facilities, production and automation. “The strength of the Landerneau butter factory (29) is its highly-integrated automation department,” he explains.

Yves-René is involved in research into sustainable solutions as part of the Passion du Lait® corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy to optimise savings in terms of water, energy and raw ingredients. He also oversees the design, production and certification of new technology and equipment. The purpose of modernising production lines is to improve both the organoleptic properties of the butter and the working conditions for staff.

It’s stimulating to work alongside all the trades and expertise involved in the butter-making industry, working together to improve both product quality and well-being in the workplace.
